Deck care guide

Keep your deck looking its best

Deckorate decks are made to be displayed — not ridden. This guide helps you maintain the print, wood, and finish in perfect condition, whether it's mounted on your wall or stored away.

Display upright or horizontal

Mount vertically with the wall fixture, or lay flat on a shelf. Avoid leaning unsupported — this can warp the deck over time.

Avoid direct sunlight

UV exposure fades the vinyl print over time. Keep your deck out of direct sun, especially near large south-facing windows.

Dry environment only

Moisture warps wood and loosens vinyl edges. Don't hang your deck in bathrooms, garages, or other damp spaces.

Regular light dusting

A soft, dry cloth once in a while is all your deck needs. No oils, no sprays, no special products required.

How to clean your deck

  1. Use a soft, dry microfibre cloth to remove dust. Wipe gently along the grain of the print.

  2. For light smudges, slightly dampen the cloth with water — never wet. Wipe and immediately dry with a second cloth.

  3. For fingerprints near the edges, a tiny amount of isopropyl alcohol (70%) on a cotton pad works well. Stay away from the center of the print.

  4. Never use window cleaners, acetone, household sprays, or abrasive cloths — these will damage or lift the vinyl.

  5. Tip

The matte finish is designed to resist fingerprints and reflections — in most cases, a light wipe is all you need.

Vinyl print care

The design is applied using a high-quality heat vinyl sticker on a 7-ply maple deck. With the right care, it stays sharp for years.

Do

  • Handle the deck by the edges
  • Store flat or mounted at all times
  • Keep at room temperature (15–25 °C)
  • Let it breathe — no airtight packaging long-term
  • Use the wall fixture for safe display

Don't

  • Press adhesives or tape onto the print
  • Stack heavy objects on top
  • Expose to extreme heat (heaters, car dashboards)
  • Scratch the surface with keys or rings
  • Peel or lift the vinyl edges

Can I actually skate on it?

Yes — these are real 7-ply maple decks and fully capable of being skated. But keep in mind that the vinyl print will wear off with use, especially around grip tape contact areas and the nose and tail. If you do skate it, enjoy it — just know it won't look the same for long.
